Francis Farrell- Ukraine’s Counteroffensive
Francis Farrell, a war reporter with The Kyiv Independent, joins Olga and Mo for an indepth analysis and discussion about Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
Francis had just come back from the area around Bakhmut at the time of recording, and brings us information about the soldiers fighting at the front, the combat situation report, and the nature of the war there: the bloodiest campaign in Europe since the Second World War.
Since Francis lives in Kyiv, we had the chance to ask what life was like there now, and the effects of the war on the Ukrainian people.
In the last part of the episode, Francis gives level-headed assessment about combat in the southern direction, especially towards Tokmak, Western military support for Ukraine, and what we can expect for the winter campaign.
